Introduction
|
SDN Store now supports the Mobile Devices, although DotNetNuke does not support them since there is a big issue on how to swap the skins between the Desktop and Mobile versions.
To make SDN Store working on the Mobile Devices you must create a new Portal (Mobile Portal) inside the same DotNetNuke installation and tell to the Desktop Portal which Portal to use as Mobile Portal: this also will synchronise the users between the 2 portals therefore an Admin in the Desktop Portal will be an Admin in the Mobile Portal as well. |
 |
|
| Users must type the url of the Mobile Portal to access SDN Store using a Mobile Device. |
The Mobile Portal will have its own design which will fit a Mobile Device while all the products, categories and shop's settings will be stored and managed in the Desktop Portal.
|
An Admin on the Mobile Portal will have the following limitations:
-
you can not edit the Categories, Products and any other shop's settings such
as: Trader Details, Payment Type, Merchant Settings, Shipping Rates and so on:
the Mobile Portal is only for browsing and making an order;
|
while it is possible to:
-
log on so the Mobile Portal can pick up the logged on user's information;
-
administrators of the Desktop Portal can edit the Mobile Portal Layout;
-
Mobile Portal can be either a Child Portal (no need for an extra Store Licence)
or a different domain on the same DNN installation (in this case you do need
another store licence);
-
In the Mobile Portal, image sizes associated to the products are ignored, this
is to prevent showing big image sizes associated to the product;
