Transaction Type

Depending on the gateway selected, the transaction could be either '1 step' or '2 steps' and you might need to install a SSL certificate on your server.
There are two steps to credit card transaction processing.
  • 1 Authorisation: checks the customer's credit card, but the amount is not actually transferred into the merchant's account.
  • 2 Settlement: the amount, previously submitted by an authorisation, is actually transferred from the customer's credit card into the merchant' account.
If you choose 1 Step Transaction, Authorisation and Settlement is done in one single step. This is for the merchant who makes services on-line immediately available, after the customer submits the order. If you choose 2 Step Transaction, Authorisation happens when the customer submits the order, while Settlement when the Store owner clicks on 'Send it Now'.
To set the Transaction Type go to the Payment Type page.
The list of orders are the Orders Management Page. If you are using the Transaction Type '2 Steps', to actually charge the credit card you need to click on the 'Send it' link.
