  • Does require a SSL certificate.
  • Could ONLY set up the option 1 step (currently, the Direct Payment API does not support order authorizations).
  • Works ONLY for US customers.
To set up this payment you need to go to the Payment Page, tick the PayPal Website Payments Pro option and 1 Step and then Update.
After that, you need to go to the Merchant Settings page and set up the API Username, API Password and API Signature. The Access Gateway has to be: English - United States. For LIVE transactions set Sandbox equal to NO. If set equal to Yes, the transactions will be recorded in the PayPal Sandbox, for more information on how to use it click here
SDN Store uses the the API Signature as authentication mechanism.
Follow these steps to acquire your API Credentials:

  • 2. Click the Profile subtab located in the top navigation area.
  • 3. Click the API Access link under the Account Information header.
  • 4. Click the Request API Credentials.
  • 5. Click the API signature radio button under the Credential Type heading.
  • 6. Complete the API Credential Request form by clicking the agreement checkbox and clicking Submit.

  • 8. Select the value listed next to Signature Hash, copy it, and save it to the Merchant Details Page. This is your API Signature.
Basically when the customer go to the Checkout page and clicks on pay with PayPal Website Payment Pro she/he will get redirected to the PayPal Website Payments Pro Page where she/he can insert the credit card's details.
REMEMBER to set the URL Home in the Site Setting page, this is used by PayPal to redirect the flow to your web site after the payment has been completed.
Depending on the results of the payment, PayPal redirects the customer to the Invoice Page or Checkout Cancel pages.
